THE STORY
I was watching a tightrope walker perform once, somewhere in the middle of a crowded street festival. No net. No safety harness. Just a woman on a wire, arms out, completely still in the middle of movement. What struck me wasn't the danger. It was the connection: one end of the wire to the other, her body the only thing holding the two points together, the only thing giving the line meaning. I thought about what that looks like as jewelry. Something that refuses to exist in isolation. Something that connects two separate parts of the body and makes them into one statement. Aspen is that wire. Your ear on one end. Your chest on the other. You in the middle, holding it all together.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Aspen begins at the ear with a hammered gold stud, textured and warm, anchoring the whole piece at the lobe. From it, a delicate gold chain descends along the neck and threads through a rigid gold-plated copper choker that wraps the throat in one clean architectural arc. At the front center of the choker, four white pearls drop on linked gold rings in a graduating vertical line, each one slightly larger than the last, falling toward the chest like a sentence that ends with the most important word. The adjustable fit means the choker sits exactly where you want it, close or loose, your choice.

THE STYLING ADVICE
Aspen needs a bare neck and a bare shoulder to breathe. It was made for a black slip dress, a strapless gown, or anything with a deep open neckline that gives the chain room to travel and the pearls room to land. Wear your hair up or pulled back so the connection between ear and choker is fully visible, the chain tracing the line of the jaw and neck like a drawn line. No other necklace.
