THE STORY
I was watching a blacksmith work once, in a small workshop somewhere I passed by almost by accident. He wasn't making anything decorative. He was making something functional, a gate hinge, I think. But the way he handled the metal stopped me at the door. He twisted it while it was still hot and malleable, coaxing it into a shape that was both controlled and completely wild, and when it cooled it held that tension permanently, like the metal had frozen mid-argument with itself. I stood there until he noticed me staring. I didn't apologize. I was already thinking about Calla.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Calla is built from silver-plated copper twisted into multiple wire strands that run together around the neck in one tight, textured bundle, part choker, part sculpture. On one side the strands remain flat and smooth, a clean herringbone band that grounds the piece. On the other they break free, twisting and multiplying into a dense, organic knot of coiled rings and tangled wire that sits at the collarbone like a storm caught mid-motion. Calla exists as a single original piece, conceived and crafted once, never to be repeated.
