THE STORY
I have a friend who got engaged and the first thing she said was not "I found my dress" but "I am not wearing white." Not as a rebellion, not to shock anyone, just because white was never her color, her mood, or her story. She spent weeks putting together a look that felt like her, dark, sharp, considered, the kind of outfit you see on a runway and think nobody would actually wear it to a wedding. She did. And she was the most stunning person in that room, not because she broke the rules, but because she was so completely, unapologetically herself that no rule could have ever applied to her in the first place. I thought about her the entire time I was making the Ingrid. This crown was never meant for a bride in the traditional sense. It was meant for the woman who reinvents what a bride looks like.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
I build each Ingrid on a copper base covered entirely in black paillettes that catch light like a night sky. Black Swarovski stones are set into the base, adding depth and brilliance to the texture. From the back of the headpiece, black chains drape loosely around the back of the head, swaying with every movement like something between a veil and a curtain of dark light. The malleable base adjusts to any head shape, sitting across the crown with quiet, dramatic authority.
