THE STORY
I was looking at old photographs of female soldiers from the Second World War, women who drove ambulances, decoded messages, flew planes, and did it all in uniforms that were never made for them. There was one photograph that stopped me completely. A woman standing next to a military vehicle, arms crossed, sleeves rolled up, looking directly at the camera like she had already won. Not aggressive. Not performing. Just certain. I kept thinking about her forearms, about what it means to show your arms like that, like a quiet declaration. That woman, that certainty, became the Matina.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Each Matina is cut from genuine olive green napa leather, soft and structured at the same time, shaped to cover the hand and extend up the forearm with an opening for the thumb to move freely. A row of bronze-plated copper studs runs down the back from top to bottom, serving as both the closure and a strong design detail that gives the piece its military backbone. A bronze-plated copper chain hangs from the bottom edge, finished with the GA signature disc. Available in multiple sizes for the right or left hand.

THE STYLING ADVICE
The Matina belongs on a bare arm where the full length of the leather can be seen. Wear it with a sleeveless dress, a strapless top, or a one-shoulder look and let it take over the arm completely. The olive green works beautifully with khaki, black, cream, and deep burgundy. Wear it on one arm only and keep the other completely bare. The Matina is already doing enough.
