THE STORY
I remember the first time I read Anaïs Nin. I was sitting alone, it was quiet, and within the first few pages I felt like someone had opened a window I didn't know was closed. She wrote about women the way women actually feel from the inside: complicated, luminous, hungry. There was a line I read and had to put the book down for a minute just to breathe. Not because it was shocking. Because it was true. I wanted to make a piece that carries that same energy. Something that doesn't explain itself. THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Baldey is a single ear piece, and that singularity is the whole point. The gold-plated copper bar curves and wraps around the ear with no closure, no clasp, nothing holding it in place but its own shape and the weight of what hangs from it. Four gold-plated chains of varying lengths fall from the bar, each one ending in a round pavé disc set with black Swarovski crystals, packed so tightly they read as one dark glittering mass. The chains move with every turn of the head, the discs catching light like fragments of a collapsed star. It is worn alone. One ear bare, one ear consumed.
